An old friend shared this with me recently, and questioned whether or not this was real or staged. After all, it isn’t often that you see a Lambo get absolutely smoked in a drag race… uncommon, but not unheard of. It is strange to see a six-figure supercar get completely blown away by an old farm truck though. My friend pointed out that he thought it was a set-up because the Lamborghini had absolutely no jump off the line, and after watching the race, I do agree that the acceleration from the supercar was pretty underwhelming. That was until I realized that the Lamborghini still ran what appears to be an 8 second quarter-mile, which isn’t too shabby in what I can only assume is a stock ride. 8 seconds is fast, especially when you consider the weight of the car combined with it’s relatively modest 600-or-so horsepower. Unfortunately, there were no specs listed for the truck, but you better believe it is packing some serious custom power. If I had to guess, I would out the truck’s horsepower in the 1,500 range, but my guess doesn’t hold much weight. My only experience with that much power comes from watching shows like The Fat and the Furious… which, by the way, is a lot of fun to watch.
I would love you folks with more knowledge drop some in the comments. How far off am I? What do you think, is this legit? What are you driving?
